Papamoa since 1989 has been a seaside suburb of Tauranga City (just like Mount Maunganui).
Papamoa, which extends east from Mount Maunganui, contains 12km of north facing sandy beach with a residential area 1.5km deep stretching its full length.
Papamoa is the fastest growing suburb in New Zealand on a percentage basis; from 1,900 in 1981 to 16,000 today and expected to reach 30,000 within the next 20 years.
The attraction is warm temperatures, city services, sandy north facing beach, work opportunities and convenient location, Auckland 3 hours, Hamilton 1.5 hours, Rotorua 1 hours, Taupo 2 hours and Whakatane 1 hour.
